Arby’s Market Fresh Sandwiches
The 780 calories, 40 grams of saturated far,and 1,690 milligrams of sodium in a Market Fresh Roast Beef and Swiss are exactly what you would expect from BAD fast food.
These numbers are worst for your heart and your blood pressure then a Quater pounder plus a medium order of fries at McDonald’s
The Market Fresh Roast Ham and Swiss and Roast Chicken Caesar are not much better. The only one worth a try is the Roast Turkey and Swiss.
Better yet try the Juinor Roast Beef or Grilled Chicken Deluxe from the regular menu.
A McDonald’s wrapper makes everything taste better to a child
Filed under: Prevention, Obesity, Nutrition, Children Heart Health
A recent study has proven what many parents have known all along: anything sporting a crinkly McDonald’s wrapper is much more appetizing to young kids. The study gave children two choices of McDonald’s menu items, one wrapped in the true packaging and the other in plain paper. The items varied from French fries and burgers to milk and carrots. Hands down children chose the Golden Arches packaging every time.
While this is not chocking, it is a bit of a let down for parents. At a time when childhood obesity is a growing problem, the concept of feeding our children healthy foods is imperative. It is no help when children would trade a healthy, homemade selection for something from the drive though at McDonald’s.
The study does come at a good time for many parents. McDonald’s is promising to curb its marketing to young kids, stating that fruit will be included in the Happy Meals so popular to young children. While I don’t believe that will fix the problem, it does show some effort by the company to provide healthier options for kids.

I am always worried about my children’s weight. It is a daily struggle! It is amazing to me how toddlers can even “read” A McDonald’s sign!

This is great news for the quarter pounder with cheese. It is about time this delicious staple received such a healthy report when compared to an Arby’s market fresh sandwich.
On a serious note though, isn’t alarming How bad all of this stuff is, even the things that are advertised as a healthier choice? I thought I heard at one time the salads that McDonalds offers as a healthy alternative on their menu are worse in fat and calories than some of their burgers and sandwiches.
Don’t be fooled by these places just because it has a green piece of lettuce in it!!!!
